SpiceJet unveils another innovative service: SpiceTag
SpiceJet is fully ready for seamlessly transporting Covid-19 vaccines through a specialised service called Spice Pharma Pro
SpiceXpress, the cargo arm of SpiceJet, on Monday (January 11) announced the launch of SpiceTag, a real-time tracking service for its partners and cargo agents. The airline believes that this is set to elevate cargo shipment experience like never before.
SpiceTag aims to revolutionise door-to-door cargo movement by designing a transparent tracking system with end-to-end scanning, which will enable customers to get live status updates. Automated notifications, shipment status reports and digital invoice downloading solutions are some of the other unique features of this service. SpiceTag is applicable for all domestic cargo services, both door-to-door and airport-to-airport.
“SpiceTag is an idea emerging out of the same insight which helps in seamlessly transporting cargo with minimum human contact. With SpiceTag, we aim to further enhance our services by offering our partners the facility to track shipments on a real-time basis,” Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet said.
Singh added that SpiceXpress has the capability to deliver all kinds of cargo in a seamless and efficient manner both within and outside India. In the times of social distancing, technology and digitisation have extremely critical roles to play in ensuring seamless execution of operations with utmost safety.
To avail SpiceTag services, airline partners and agents will have to create an account on SpiceXpress which will allow them to make online booking of their cargo shipment through www.spicexpress.com. While the entire process is contactless, it also allows customers to make online payment through a payment gateway, thereby offering a hassle-free experience.
With a network spanning 54 domestic and 45 international destinations and a fleet of 17 cargo planes, SpiceXpress is capable of flying over 500 tonnes of cargo per day to both domestic and a wide list of international destinations.
Ever since the lockdown began, SpiceJet and its cargo arm, SpiceXpress, has played a critical role and worked relentlessly to ensure that the country’s supply chain remains intact. SpiceJet has operated 12,514 cargo flights since the lockdown began and carried 1,00,898 tons of cargo.
SpiceXpress is gearing to play a stellar role in the transportation of Covid-19 vaccines in India as well. The airline said on December 2 that it is fully equipped and ready for seamlessly transporting the vaccines through a specialised service called Spice Pharma Pro.
SpiceJet has partnered with Om Logistics Limited, which is one of the biggest logistics companies in the country. Om Logistics will provide SpiceJet with the refrigerated trucks to cover the first mile and last mile across the length and breadth of the country. SpiceJet will provide the necessary air support.
The airline has an agreement with Snowman Logistics for the distribution of the Covid-19 vaccines as well. SpiceJet has also tied up with global leaders in cold chain solutions offering active and passive packaging with dedicated equipment to perform seamless cold chain operations.
